Mistr Jan Hus – dilematická výzva k obrácení
Nahlédnutí do duše nejednoho českého katolíka
Ctirad V. Pospíšil
POSPÍŠIL, C. V.: Master John Hus – Dilemmatic Appeal for Conversion : Insight into the Soul of Not One Czech Catholic. Studia Aloisiana, 6, 2015, 2, s. 5 – 27.
This paper presents refl ection over the signifi cance of the sexcentenary as John Hus was burn to death, wherein the author sees the challenge for conversion which consists in multi-dimensional understanding of the history. For all that the author defends predominant orthodox doctrine in John Hus teaching but on the other side also the inadequacy in his preaching activity. This kind of drama is sharply dilemmatic because absolute accent on personal belief should make for anarchy, while contrary extreme i.e. dictate of the institution can lead toward the totality. Basically, every person is in this situation, although not necessary so extremely tense situations as Czech reformer.

Characteristic Features of the Christian Religious Experience – Refl ection
Stanisław Głaz SJ
GŁAZ, S.: Characteristic Features of the Christian Religious Experience – Reflection. Studia Aloisiana, 6, 2015, 2, s. 29 – 46.
This paper presents an attempt to discuss in more detail the question of understanding of religious experience in the context of the Christian religion, as well as to show its characteristic extraordinary features. They refer both to a person’s internal and external world connected with this experience and include: experience of a feeling of unity with the world and God, a feeling of inner subjectivity of material things, states of losing track of time and space and an ability of transcendence of time and place, a conviction that the experienced states are real, a feeling of inexpressibility of what one experiences, and positive aff ectivity. Further characteristics also comprise: compliance of the religious input received during religious experience with the Bible, a harmony of internal and external life, a humble attitude, and activeness in a religious community. The paper also presents the role of those characteristics and their contribution to the process of a human being’s religious development.

GAVENDOVÁ, O.: The Command “Love God above everything and your neighbour as yourself” from the Point of View of Christian Philosophy. Studia Aloisiana, 6, 2015, 2, s. 47 – 59.
The article looks at the command of love to God and to the neighbour. The goal is to fi nd out whether this command is justifi able in the nature of beings, or it is purely a religious command. For this reason we will pay attention to the beings naturally directed towards the good, enabling to talk about natural love. Subsequently, we will focus on human love where three levels can be distinguished: sensual love, personal love and agape. Finally we will try to answer some questions following from the command of love to God and to the neighbour: whether it is the same love, whether these loves exclude each another, whether love only to God or only to the neighbour can exist, and why actually one has to love God and the neighbour.

Cohenova koncepcia vedeckej revolúcie
Miroslav Karaba
KARABA, M.: The Concept of Scientifi c Revolution in the System of I. B. Cohen. Studia Aloisiana, 6, 2015, 2, s. 61 – 73.
I. B. Cohen has maintained that scientifi c revolutions can be identifi ed despite the vagueness of the characterization of “scientifi c revolution”. He suggested four tests of revolutionary status, namely the testimony of contemporary witnesses; references to the achievement in subsequent documents in the fi eld; the judgements of competent historians of science; and the opinions of scientists working in that fi eld today. On the other hand Cohen’s procedure for identifying scientific revolutions is subject to severe limitations. The most obvious limitation is case of overtdisagreement. A further problem is that observer may agree that a particular episode is revolutionary but disagree about why it is important. However, presented paper will show how Cohen’s project to identify scientifi c revolutions by reference to the testimony of qualifi ed observer is unsatisfactory.
Keywords: I. B. Cohen (1914 – 2003), history of science, scientific revolution
